This is just a quick post to allow you to know that Digit-Eyes is now available for the iPhone. There is an introductary price of $29.99 through July 31st 2010. I do not know how much it will cost after that date. What is it? Digit-Eyes is a barcode scanner. You can scan frozen dinners, cans of soup, CDs, books, and more. You can also create your own text and/or audio labels for those cases where there is no barcode available, or where the information for a current barcode is not sufficient.
To use Digit-Eyes to scan barcodes do the following.
1. On your IPhone, start Digit-Eyes.
2. Activate the scan button.
3. Every second, you will hear a click sound. When you hear this, it means that the iPhone has taken a picture.
4. Move the iPhone around the package and wait until a picture is taken.
5. Make sure you hold the iPhone about 4 to 8 inches above the package.
6. When a barcode is found you will hear a beep, and the information will be spoken automatically by Voiceover.
7. Buttons will appear that allow you to Google for more info, and to record a text/audio label.
Happy identifying everyone! ?
